I would say starlight and or then midnight (fingerprint magnet). Others after that. But I would buy the one I like most.

Colors have nothing to do with iPhone resale. The majority of people put a case on it.

1) You often see the colour through the case - e.g. around the camera.

2) I don't agree that they're all equally in demand, otherwise they'd all sell out at the same time. However, I'm finding red is in stock most places wheres midnight and starlight are not. But I wanted to get a second opinion

Yes, but if more people bought color X, then there will also be more of that color in circulation later on. So it evens itself out.

I used to resale new/pre owned iPhone years ago as a good side hustle. When the bulk sellers offered me iPhones I would take any color/any GB's. I didn't care. Everything would flip quick.

This is absolutely wrong. You can see oddball colors on both iPhones and Macbooks regularly going for lower resale prices than standard colors. Things like gold, pink, etc will lost an extra $50 or more on a phone.

No you are wrong. Like I said many years ago. My buyers didn’t care what color or GB’s. I wasn’t selling 1 per customer. I was doing bulk sales. One buyers buying 10-15 iPhones.

I think it depends. If you are selling bulk/larger lots that is probably true.

If you look at ebay sales for people selling a single phone, odd colors generally go for less.

Bulk buying/reselling a whole different ball game. We didn’t look at colors when looking at inventory lists. We looked at model/GB. That’s it. That’s what mattered.

Ya, I assumed intent of the original poster was just for a single personal phone. Not enough information to know though.

More important than color is the price, if you price your iPhone lower than other sellers the color will be the last thing the buyers think about. However the basic black/white are the safer options though it may not really matter as others have mentioned.

There are two markets. Those who use cases and those who don't. Those who use cases don't care because we don't have the differentiating white/black bezels on the front. Those who don't use cases are another story. I still maintain that the neutral colors, starlight and black, will sell best.

I would not suggest looking at inventory as an indicator. There is nothing to say that Apple doesn't produce twice as many of one color vs another.

Well, I agree with OP.. in some regions where Apple is considered a luxury item, color does affect the price (thus, resale value).

I believe neutral colors will hold its value a bit more over time because it's more universal and you can hardly tell the difference YoY. Starlight is an excellent shade of white for this year. Blue is okay, product red is actually boring so I can see it being more abundant, and a bit cheaper in some location.
As for the Pros I love the Graphite and maybe Gold. Not a fan of Sierra Blue.

I don't think it matters. I made a preorder for 13 pro Sierra Blue because I really wanted that color. After 3 weeks they called me to let me know that the phone I ordered is not yet in stock BUT they have one Graphite extra.
- Do you want this one?
- Hell yeah
And so I switched my preference. Now i really like the Graphite and find the Sierra Blue a girls colour.
My point is - the device itself is more important then the colour.
