This poll is mainly for users of the iPad 3rd gen. What would need to be included in future iPad 4 or beyond that would convince you to sell your iPad 3rd gen? You can vote for as many features as you like. Hopefully we'll paint a picture of most desired features.

These features have been requested by various users in this forum as outlandish as they may seem. Remember, it's not a poll about how likely these features are, just what Apple will have to offer you to convince you to upgrade from the current iPad 3

Personally I'm going for the last option. I will only upgrade when my current system dies.

20 hour battery life? Really???

I'd like to see it get more RAM and a faster processor. Overall though, I'm not sure I will be upgrading in the next cycle as I really like the 3rd generation. Only time will tell if Apple can change my mind.

This is how the poll stands so far:

#1 Slimmer & Lighter
#2 I will ugrade when my iPad 3 dies/Quad core CPU /128GB option
#3 Facetime HD/RAM/Longer battery

I don't plan on upgrading for a couple of years. I'm a university student, I can't keep eating macaroni and cheese and stretching out my weekly pay to pay the rent just to buy a shiny tech toy.

The obviouse, and most likely new feature will be tactile feedback. Is the next logical step, and given plenty of evidence that Apple have been researching/investing in haptic-feedback style technologies it's a good bet we're going to see this stuff coming to iPhone5 / iPad 4.

Hopefully many people will vote for this poll.....
I'm kind of curious as to what's the most wanted feature of iPad 4

I would like a larger screen with a much slimmer bezel and the same weight. Touch feedback doesn't interest me at all, and neither does a smaller version.

I'm actually pretty undecided on what would cause me to upgrade. As soon as I heard that ipad3 was going to have retina display I was sold (previously had ipad2). But now I honestly don't know. I have an iphone 4s and don't use siri a whole lot. Haptic feedback sounds cool but I don't see it worthy of an upgrade. I'm sure there will be something but I'm pretty happy with ipad 3 so far.

I'm quite satisfied with my new iPad.

Of greater importance to me at this point, is a new iPhone to replace my iP4S.

I would benefit greatly if Apple comes through with a larger, modern day screen. The current screen has outlived its time.

This one should have had stereo speakers but would not upgrade for them.

My next tablet will be a Win8 based transformer style device.

Here's where we stand with the poll!

#1 Quad Core CPU
#2 Slimmer/lighter
#3 Facetime HD
#4 128GB option
#5 Stero Speakers

Only 22% will wait until their iPad 3 kicks the bucket before upgrading.

Most requested feature still seems to be quad core processor. It's not going to happen. IOS just about manages two cores. Four would be a waste at this stage. Do we still want to rely on Cortex A9 next year too? A5XX? A5XS? Nope. Im betting on a dual core A15 for the iPad 4, a A15X for iPad 5 and we might see quad core by iPad 6. The only quad here to stay is the GPU to keep retina fired up.
