I have only owned the iPhone 4 (excluding the month that I owned a 3GS once) but I think I would rate them 2G > 4 > 3G(S). My friend had the 2G until just recently when he got his 4 and although it was beaten to ****, the thing was a tank and worked fine.

Edit: The display on the 4, however, takes the cake.

2G & 4 are pretty much tied on aesthetics, but 4 wins overall.

iPhone 4 by far. Followed by the original and 3G in a distant third. Design, features, using it, etc. My iPhone 4 beats out my previous iPhone's easily.

4. Owned all except 3G. 4 wins on aesthetics, with 2G second. Features and the 4 blows them out the water.

For me, it is the iPhone 4. The screen is simply amazing.

4 wins for me hands down. Main factors are the screen, 3G/Wifi speeds, 5MP with LED Flash Camera, and the design/form factor.

I loved my 3G but the iphone 4 has much improvement over stuff I wnated to see better in the 3G.

Much better camera (like my roommate who also upgraded from a 3G was thinking of buying a new camera but is now thinking that he's probably happy enough with his iphone 4 as a camera).

Video ability.

Helluva lot better GPS.

And it runs smoother (faster processor).

So it is in every way improved on the things I wanted to see improved on the 3G. So, yeah, I like the iphone 4 better. Can't comment on the other ones as I never had the other two.

iPhone 4 blows any other iPhone out of the water.

I've had 2G, 3GS and 4 and 4 is just win all the way. Though I do still love the 2G. That one is definitely second. Just never was a fan of the way the 3G/S felt in my hands.

The 3G was first and my favorite only because of the pure excitement it brought me when i got it.

Had a 3GS (still do, but don't use it), and now have a 4.

I love the 4 so much, it is really just beautiful and perfect for me.

Work might be getting me an iPhone 4 for work use as well, so two 4s for me!!

I have to say, it really has been a big improvement having a beautiful intuitive phone!
