So, I'm running out of space for my DVD collection and I'm thinking about moving to a different type of case or sleeve for most of the collection (I'd keep my favorites in the original cases). So, which would you choose: Those paper sleeve things, CD jewel cases, slimer DVD cases, or just keep them as is? Any other suggestions would be welcome as well.

(If I move to CD jewel cases or the Paper sleeves, I will be putting the cover and booklet info onto my computer in PDF form.)

You could also invest in a DVD jukebox and not worry about the cases.

Going with the jewel cases might be good because they will continue to offer good protection from accidental breakage during transport, and they don't take up too much room. If you tend to keep them all at home anyway, could you get a couple of those "Rolodex-style" cases where you snap the DVDs in and then just flip through them?

Get a bigger DVD rack. Keep them in their original cases. It's worth it if you have a lot of Criterion (and I'm assuming you do. At least The 400 Blows.).

I'm running out of room too, but DVDs look a lot better, and are a lot safer in their original cases. Right now I have a giant stack building on top of my DVD shelf.

Well...had I planned on keep the Criterion and my favorites in the original casing and move the lesser movies in the collection to a smaller format.
