I'm planning on the 64GB 11" model with 4GB option. Bench test results (from PCMag) show that the performance is excellent for video, but may slow down for number-crunching functions due to 2GB. Adding the addition memory should alleviate this.
Was initially upset about the lack of IR port and no backlit keyboard, but since I'm posting this on my base model 11.6" that I got about an hour ago I'd say I got over it...
Interesting poll so far. Out of 12 choices there, 40% of us are getting a maxed out MBA (either 11 or 13 inch). Of course there's the bias inherent to this being a techie website, but I hope the trend continues in the general public so Apple really push the hardware in next iterations.
Maxed out 11 inch for me. It will be my primary computer.
Got my fully spec'd 13"/4gb/256gb/2.13 from Macmall for:
$1799 MSRP
-$50 Macmall discount
-3% ($54) discount for clicking through referral link on (redacted)
-5% credit card rewards (Citicard, insane deal)
=$1610
Compared to no discount and $100+ of tax from the Apple store, I consider this a steal! They have a free printer deal after rebate as well but as I'm not in the country so I can't get the rebate sent in time.
I will be buying 13.3 inch. 11.6 inch screen was little bit small. I am not a journalist and I don't see the huge weight difference between 11.6 and 13.3 inch screen.
More telling to me is how nobody is buying the top-end CPU config with only 2G of Ram. I guess everyone else (myself included) figured if you are gonna trick it out, may as well as go all the way.
Before I saw them in person I was going to buy the 13, but after examining at the Apple Store I decided that the 11 was better for me after all, so I ordered an 11 with 4 GB and 128 GB, 1.4 Ghz.
