iPhone: 2 MP
iPhone 3G: 2 MP (+ new features)
iPhone 3GS: 3 MP (+ new features)
iPhone 4: 5 MP (+ new features)
iPhone 4S: 8 MP (+ new features)
iPhone 5: ???

So, the camera has always been updated every year and always been enhanced (even if it was a slight one). Megapixel wise, it's always been upgraded except for one time.

So do you guys think it will be upgraded? And if it isn't, will you guys care?

Unless they improve the sensor dramatically, I don't see them (nor would I want them to) increase the MP... not to mention, 12MP images would fill the current base 16GB rather quickly.

There is always a better camera. If they don't up the MP the upgrade will probably be some form of better photo capture such as multiple focus points, etc.

Same megapixels, but improved optics. The poll answers aren't specific enough. Are you asking if it will be upgraded megapixel-wise or optics-wise? I said no because it will not be upgraded megapixel-wise but will be upgrade optics-wise.

Actually, all I want is an upgraded front facing camera because when ever I take pictures with friends I use the front facing camera.

Spot on. The improved optics is more important than how many megapixels, as has been demonstrated. I've read one review of a camera with 5 mp lens producing a better image over a 12 mp lens. I think Apple will improve the optics and sensors

The camera has received an upgrade on every model, hasn't it? I'm not sure about the original to 3G, but from the 3G on the camera has always received a lot of attention.
