Obviously nobody knows for sure because companies generally avoid being transparent to prevent their customers from making personally sound purchase decisions ;) but what do you think?

Will there be a MacBook Pro 2017? I think we can rule out spring, so it's either fall or spring 2018 (edit: now knowing they release every year I would say Fall is most likely).

What do you guys think? 2017 or 2018? Remember this is Pro I'm talking about not regular MB.

Uh, no. They just released a new MBP with updated form-factor and physical features (touch-bar, Touch ID...) The only updates will be processor upgrades, and possibly new RAM/SSD configurations. That'll be the deal for about 3 years, I think. That's probably the soonest that you can expect to see an actual new model.

Hopefully ! They will probably revert to the original (and now fixed) battery, which means higher capacity, and switch to Kaby Lake, which in the 13" offers better perfs at much lower TDP.
Maybe 32GB ram option ?

Other than that, it's highly unlikely they'll offer anything else. But the battery / CPU in itself is worth waiting for if you`re not in a hurry.

Just for reference I'm not talking about a complete redesign just the next iteration. They release them pretty much every 12-18 months generally right?

Roughly once a year, every now and then it will be sooner (say 8-10 months), but this does not occur often. Average is 320 Days according to the buyers guide.

I'm probably going to wait for the next redesign, not impressed with this version...

We got one for ... 2008 - 2009 - 2010 - 2011 - 2012 - 2013 - 2014 - 2015 - 2016. Do you think they'll skip 2017?

I wasn't aware they released a Pro every year for the last 9 years. With that said, I think however unlikely it may be, they are more likely (relatively speaking) to skip this year than they ever have been in the past.

After the backlash. They'd be stupid to leave it longer than 12 months. I'd expect a minor spec bump, improved battery and probably a $1-200 dollar price drop average.

I agree. I have no information other than a gut feeling, but I just don't see Apple releasing a new MBP in 2017. Of course, I'd love to be wrong.

I also think the days of multiple releases a year are a thing of the past.

Totally agree. They might even throw the SD card slot back in!!
