I have my macbook for little over one year now....
as soon as the new multi-touch macbook's and macbook pro's came out I started thinking.

The polycarbonate (white or black) macbook doesn't do 3 finger swipes.
I think it could be possible, because if you put three fingers on the touchpad it doesn't do anything.

I know multi-touch is all about finger-gestures so this isn't really multi-touch
But still, could it be possible by modifying some kind of config file?

There are loads of threads on this...

The short answer is no, you won't get multi-touch.

The long answer is maybe, some Linux developer has managed to get multi-touch working on his macbook (that didn't have 3 finger swipe IIRC), he said he'd work on a Mac OSX driver, but there's no given time frame on when he'll be done.

Moral of the story, search...
