I bought my ex's computer off of him about a year ago, and finally decided it was time to remove his name from the main admin login. So I went into system prefs>accounts> and then changed the name to my own. When I logged out and back in, EVERYTHING was empty. No Word documents, over 1300 songs in itunes, 1000's of pics in iphoto ALL GONE 
I did the same thing with the guest account, but nothing seems to be missing from that login. When I click on the spotlight and search a certain song or artist, some of what I had before will pop up, but no word documents...
