Phones: iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone X

Ever since updating to iOS 11 (and all the updates since, including today’s 11.1.1), my 4G reception has been horrible. The phone will also get stuck on 4G and not go back to LTE. So I’ll have full bars 4G and no data. If I cycle airplane mode on and off it’ll pick up the LTE which is usually 1-2 bars and then I’ll have data again. I’m guessing this indicates it’s a fringe reception area problem. I also have the latest carrier settings as far as I know.

Both phones are the AT&T models and presumably have the Intel chipsets.

It is very annoying and makes the phones difficult to use.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing? I tried searching the AT&T forums and didn’t find much.

Sounds to be a location issue and not software issue. AT&T has been having issues lately in my area, which for the most part is uncommon. I would contact AT&T and put in a ticket. If they don't come back with any issues, try to get a new SIM card.

Should I get a new SIM card if I just got the iPhone X and didnt swap the cards?

I mean its possible the SIM card that came with your X is damaged. But the more likely thing is AT&T is having network issues.
Thanks. I’ve been using the Mark The Spot app from AT&T pretty much since the issue started (several weeks now).

AT&T is getting horrible, where I work the signal is horrible, every time I call att they tell me the same bull the towers in your area are fine, I’ve been with att for a very very long time, ever since it was bellsouth mobility, Cingular to now att, and to tell you the truth I’m really considering switching to a carrier with better and stronger signal strength. By the way I’m located in Miami Florida
