I have a 3 year old black MacBook (OS X 10.6.4) bought from new, that is unable to play streaming audio (eg Spotify) or video (eg YouTube, BBC iPlayer, etc.) without the play breaking up, "stuttering", and freezing. The problem is recent, streaming having previously worked fine.
The computer links to broadband Internet via a Belkin N+ wireless modem / router, to which another 2 MacBooks and 2 iMacs are also attached wirelessly. The other computers have no streaming issues - even when all machines are on-line simultaneously, which suggests the problem is with just this MacBook. Streaming via this router has worked well up until now.
Tech details if relevant:
Model Identifier: MacBook2,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MB21.00A5.B07
SMC Version (system): 1.13f3
Any help much appreciated - working without Spotify in the background is very dull
