My battery on the latest version of the ipod touch doesnt seem to last long. If i'm streaming audio or video it REALLY. Runs down quickly. If i charge it fully abd dont use it and put it in sleep it runs down quickly. Normal?

What version of iOS 6 are you running? Some of the earlier versions where quite buggy and the battery drained fast.

Try this:
  1. Fully charge your iPod
  2. Without disconnecting it form it's power source, power it down.
  3. Wait 30 seconds and then power it back up.
I have found that power cycling iOS devices every so often can help with battery life. And I always power cycle an iOS device after an iOS patch.

How long is not long? Have you tried adjusting your brightness? I found I got better life by adjusting the brightness. Full brightness will reduce the battery life and isn't always the proper brightness for where you are.

Also as a very very minor battery savings - if (and only if) you don't use Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth off. This is probably not enough savings to really worry about, but every little bit helps.
