Hi

I'm getting what I believe is very poor battery life from my MacBook Pro 13" (now 2 months old).

After calibrating the battery I'm getting battery life as follows:

Saturday 15th Jan
34 mins browsing

Sunday 16th Jan
31 mins browsing

Tuesday 18th Jan
29 mins browsing

Saturday 22nd Jan
1 min browsing - the MBP then shutdown due to no power remaining.

95 MINS BROWSING, 1 WEEK SLEEP TIME.

In between browsing the MBP was always in sleep mode.

Battery Energy Saving settings are in the Factory settings.

Info from the System Profiler:

Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 1119
Fully charged: No
Charging: No
Full charge capacity (mAh): 5548
Health Information:
Cycle count: 17
Condition: Normal
Battery Installed: Yes
Amperage (mA): -611
Voltage (mV): 11149

I've called Apple and they say the battery is fine, but 95 mins browsing and that's it? A long way from the 10 hours as specified by Apple.

Does anyone else feel the battery life isn't what it should be?

Thanks for your help.
Sean

95 minutes browsing isn't a meaningful metric. "Browsing" can involve anything from Flash to reading text files. Websites that require more CPU (those containing video, for example) will shorten the battery time remaining considerably.

Probably the majority of time its the wife using facebook. Certainly no Flash, videos etc.

95 min browsing?

Were you reading articles or were you watching evil flash with highest brightness in loudest volume?

Even worse, were you playing flash games?

they don't count as browsing. Flash kills your battery. Also, you could have been opening 10-15 windows in the background.
