Hi,

I am connecting to my old trustworthy Time Capsule over WiFi - it basically acts as a Switch for Ethernet and WiFi, with my AirPort Extreme being the router.

Anyways, sitting in the living room, 15m and a wall to the office, with my MacBook Pro (2008), and my MacBook Air (2010), I was noticing a somewhat slow connection on my MBA. So, I checked the Time Capsule, and the MBP was connected with;

Quality: Excellent
Data rate: 43 Mb/s
RSSI: -64 dBm
PHY Mode: 802.11n (2.4GHz)

And my MBA;

Quality: Excellent
Data rate: 21 Mb/s
RSSI: -68 dBm
PHY Mode: 802.11n (2.4GHz)

Why the difference? The two laptops are sitting right next to each other, less than 45 cm apart.

And, if I move the MBA right next the Time Capsule, the data rate goes to 144 Mb/s.

Is there anything I can do to speed up the WiFi connection to the Air?

Bo
