I own a 2020 Intel MacBook Air (16GB i5 quad core).

I also use have the MacBook Air Connected to a 4k external display at 60Hz through Displayport. In addition my MacBook Air is paired with a Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Keyboard.

Yesterday I installed Big Sur and I have now started experiencing the display looking unusable after a a fresh boot, sometimes this problem is fixable with a restart.

Is anyone else seeing these problems? I would advise anyone with a similar setup to exercise extreme caution before upgrading. I think I will be going back down to Catalina.

Which of the displays, the internal, the external or both ?

Personally, I only use the internal one with Big Sure on my 2020 i3 Air and it looks great to me.

The problem occurs on both displays. Perhaps the problem can be triggered by closing the laptop lid after logging in, and waiting for the UI to show up on the external monitor.
