Ok, so the cameras are still low res, but I've massively improved the noise/graininess issue. This is a photo from the camera app:

The same photo taken with the latest version of Camera Boost:

Both photos were taken with identical lighting, on the same iPad, with no post-processing (except for the app's integrated noise reduction). No tricks :) Note that the Camera Boost photo is full sized too, while the camera app cuts the picture to fit the screen.

The app is available here: http://itunes.apple.com/app/camera-boost/id432017065 but I'll stick some promo codes on the forum here in a few minutes.

Other stuff the app does: HDR, colour effects (the well-known 'colour splash' and a lot more), all the usual retro effects, HD video recording (720p 30fps), HDR, and a bunch more.

It doesn't just have a bunch of preset filters, it lets you adjust the effects yourself, and you can mix effects any way you want. The effects are all done realtime, so you have a live preview, and you can record video in HD with the effects running - in fact you can adjust effects DURING recording, which can be pretty awesome fun :)

Ok, 5 promo codes: https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=13965319#post13965319

I'll post 5 more later, so more people get a chance to grab one.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. Do you know if I can I use that app on an iphone successfully?

For the moment at least, it's iPad only. We're building something a little different for the iPhone which I think will work better with the smaller screen, but it'll be based on the same technology. That will be a separate app, though.
