poor performance when streaming video via Airplay

I take a short video clip on my iPhone 4 in 720p. I get home and want to stream it to my iMac or to my AppleTV to watch on the big screen wirelessly via Airplay. The buffering time is ridiculous. It would seem to me the issue is with the iPhone pushing the data stream out at that rate rather than the AppleTV not having the horsepower to play it, since the iMac i5 has the same issue. Am I missing something? I hope this is addressed in 5.1.
