The poor Chinese quality of cables is driving me nuts.
I bought what was sold as a PREMIUM...hdmi cable...
It took two days but I finally narrowed it down to this issue...replaced it and picture came back.
Same with iphone cables that U buy on ebay........fail...
I sure wish an American company who believes in Quality Control
would be in the cable business

First, don't buy from Ebay.

For lighting cables, check out Anker, extremely high quality products (the company was started by an former Google engineer). I can't say enough good things about their other products as well (battery packs, USB hubs, etc.)

For all other cable needs, I'd suggest looking into Monoprice - great products, great support (just replaced a 2-1/2 year old lighting cable, with a newer model, for free), huge range of options (ultra thin, reinforced, 3ft - 150+ ft), plus all sorts of other A/V products (in addition to networking gear, amps, displays).

My cable that failed was bought from Newegg...lasted six months...they will not take it back... I have the USB AnKER expander...and it actually works unlike the two AUKEY I wasted money on.

Yep, we've used quite a few Anker products and they're all been superlative.

Go to monoprice.com, get some HDMI cables, you'll be in good shape :)

I think I've bought 1 HDMI cable, and that was because I needed a 20FT cable. All others were included with cable boxes/monitors. For Lightning cables I bought a 2-back Anker cable and it's been fine. Amazon basics is also decent for cables, as is Monoprice.

I ordered the replacement from Monoprice...they are a slow shipper however.....

I bought Apple cables from ebay more than once.... There is no blanket that applies......But you do need to watch your step, as i have got dodgy ones before, but that didn't turn me away from getting more.

Great advice! In addition to Anker the braided cables AT&T sell at the corporate stores is of great quality. My OEM Apple cables last about 6 months so I stopped using them and now use Anker Belkin and the one AT&T sells.

Generally speaking I’ve never had a problem with poor quality wies. I suppose to some degree you get what you pay for.

Over the holiday I was plugging in my parents Amazon Alexa to their bose acoustic wave radio with an old 3.5mm to RCA style wire. I was shocked st how heavy duty the wire was

I know it is just "0" and "1" going down your HDMI lane, but for some reason I have always used a good source for it. Monoprice has some along with "Blue Jean Cables." I have never had an issue. The one cable I did get from Amazon.com was absolutely junk and spent hours troubleshooting an issue I had. Once I replaced the cable, never had an issue.

Of course everyone is different and YMMV on where and what you purchase.

I guess I'm in the minority group that doesn't have an issue with the supplied cable until I misuse it in some way other than intended, like slamming my center console lid down on my iPhone cable without thinking about how much damage I'm doing to the internal wires lol.

I will look into them. How is the quality?

See my post above, I also mentioned them. Are they ultra-highend cables, no, but they are good and I have yet to have an issue with any cable I have bought from them. At one point they were a big sponsor at AVScience.com, which is where I first heard of them. Some of the folks over there go a tad crazy over the subject of cables. To the point of spending a grand or two on a single cable. Yeah that crazy!

Just use AmazonBasics. Pretty cheap, a warranty that will actually be honored, and ships free with Prime.
