Poor quality videos on Retina Display...

So I have this amazing Retina Display best £1,800 I have ever spent!

Problem is video on BBC iPlayer don't show up in HD, and the SD versions are VERY, VERY, VERY bad quality. Comparing it to my 2010 MacBook Pro its worse...

Please explain my eyes cant watch it! Yes exaggerated abit lol!

Retina doesn't matter if the quality of the video/photo/image is low-res.

Actually it's not worse. Set your laptops next to each other, its just that video looks like crap compared to everything else.
