So yesterday night I finally upgraded from 4.1 to 5.0.1 and I maintained my old 01.59.00 baseband

Ever since I get a terrible siginal even in places it's normally great.
I use numerical signal bars so I'm very familiar with what it should be..example I'm at my desk now and it's usually -70 or so but it's sitting at -113

Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if there is a resolution.

This is a well known issue with 4.3 and above and the old baseband. You don't actually have poor signal, it just appears that way.

You can fix the signal issue by installing ultrasn0w, but this typically breaks MMS and visual voicemail. If you don't use either of those features, then it's not a problem.

Cool, I had been on 4.1 so long that I didn't follow issues with the other 4.x.x firmwares. Thanks for the information. I may just rejailbreak and update my baseband since I don't need to unlock and I probably won't be selling this phone for a while if ever.
