I've just installed Windows XP on my iMac (Early 2008). Most everything works okay, except the sound.
The sound seems very tinny and low quality, and if I switch from an app that's making sound to one that's not and the sound turns off (e.g. Flight Simulator to Firefox) there's this weird Star Trek phaser-gun ish noise.
The second issue is the fact that the microphone doesn't work. Although it's recognized by Windows, it doesn't work. A microphone would be really useful for playing FSX with TeamSpeak or an audio channel on a multiplayer FS game.
The third issue is that the jacks on the back don't work. Microphone in, nor speaker out work.
Is there any drivers I can update to fix this?
