Hi, I have a 1st generation 24" iMac. I have recently moved and currently can't connect it directly with ethernet which is what I did before. The wifi performance seems terrible. I can only get about half the speed I can get on myold ibook and the signal drops a lot. The ethernet was always a bit dodgy itself, but only to start with it usually involved unplugging the ethernet cable and plugging in before it would properly connect but after that the speed was usually fine. Any thoughts on what would make the wifi a bit dodgy, is it just hardware fault?

Currently I'm sharing the internet connection from my ibook via a ethernet cable, not ideal as you can imagine!
