Port # of cancelled line to new line?

Since AT&T is telling me I only qualify for the $599 price, I'm looking at my options. One is to add a line with the new iphone and cancel my existing line. The ETF currently stands at $135 for the line, so the iPhone would net to about $335 using this method.

Any idea if I'll be able to swing a number port between the two lines? I doubt it, but just thought I'd check with you guys.

It might work if you get the new phone and have ATT swap the numbers. Just make sure you do this before you cancel the old contract. If think once you cancel a line the number is gone...
