I was considering getting some silicone plugs as I don't really use the slots on the side (except for charging and the occasional USB drive) and there's a bit of lint/gunk inside them. They're pretty cheap so money isn't is an issue but I read that they can cause the computer to overheat? Any experiences with them good/bad?

Can't you just use compressed air?

Anyways I think they would ruin the aesthetics of the computer.

No air is drawn through the ports so your safe to use them if you wish.
