I have a 2.66GHz iCore 7 MBP.

I have USB 2 ports. Is there a driver update that I can download to allow my ports to run USB 3 speeds?

Also if my MBP didn't come with a Thunderbolt port I'm SOL right? It looks like my miniDV port but I figure that it's not upgradable to a Thunderbolt port.

Thanks for the responses.

Both Thunderbolt and USB 3 require new hardware chips to work, you can't get them on an older machine through a software/firmware update.

Edit: Aren't the Core i5/i7 MBPs 2011 models? If yours is a 2011 model it already has Thunderbolt.
