I like the idea of using a "portable browser" (and other applications) where things aren't installed ON (in?) my computer.

The Nifty MiniDrive which originated on Kickstarter seems like an excellent product.

A couple of questions:

1. Is there a Mac-compatible portable "suite" available that would work?

2. What steps would need to be taken for this to work?

Thank you!

Perhaps you can link to the project. I'm not entirely sure what you're on about. More info probably will get you answers.

If you mean storing apps in a flash drive and running it from there, yes Mac can do it to. All you have to do is to drag the app from your home folder to the flash drive. It works for most 3rd party apps except Adobe and MS office.
