CarPlay Portable CarPlay devices?

I just became aware of portable CarPlay units like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BHKVT42S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Does anyone have experience with these type of devices? I have an older vehicle without CarPlay, and it's cost-prohibitive to get one installed (around $1200). I went ahead and purchased the device above and am curious about others' experiences.

That's pretty slick, I've looked into aftermarket CarPlay in a couple of vehicles I've owned but always decided it was too expensive. At the moment I'm down to one car that has factory wireless CarPlay but I'm curious how it works out for you; I'll mention it to a couple of friends too.
