Anyone know of a portable dock/hub (kind of like hyperdrive) for a USB C/thunderbolt 3 MacBook Pro that has a Thunderbolt 2 port? I've looked fairly extensively and haven't been able to find anything. I've found ones with mini-displayport, but that doesn't help me as I need to connect a Thunderbolt Display and I'm trying to rid myself of having to use a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter.

Also as an FYI to anyone who's considered using a MagSafe to USB-C adapter, they don't really work that well...

I don't think it exists. And the reason is obvious: It would dumb down the dock needlessly and reduce flexibility greatly. And on top, it would probably also increase cost as it would require special circuitry and chips for the conversion.
The TB2 port would have to replace the available TB3 port on the dock outright. You can't have both as Thunderbolt cannot be split from one port into several.

It may even be part of the Thunderbolt spec that devices must not use different revisions at the same time. But that's just speculation.
