Hi

I did a clean install of my mac today.

When I was surfing on the web yesterday and should go to youtube, but missed the y and did go to outube instead. I did hit the cancel button and did type in the missing y. But my browser went to some other url and pop-ups and things, command q didn't work had to do a force-shutdown.

I did backup my files on a portable drive before my new install, but can the portable drive be infected in some way now, I use it on other computers to (mac, windows)?
How do I do to check if it is, plug it in to a windows machine with anti-virus?

Nothing to worry about, and certainly no virus

Probably, as Krafty said, a few Java pop-ups

If you want to reset your browser and clear the cache just to feel safer, go ahead, but no other steps should be necessary

There are no viruses for the Mac
And any of the few trojans around require you to enter your administrator's password

okay.

It was like 100+ pop-ups and some unsuitable sites too.
But you think my protable drive is okay.
