porting for torrents

How do I set up ports on transmission or azureus for that matter. I've read a little on the matter to know that its better to do it, but I don't know how. Someone please help...the more specific the better. I really don't know much about this subject matter.

You'll need to provide a little more info. What kind of router are you using? What kind of network do you have? How is this computer connecting to your network (ethernet or wireless).?

I'd also suggest you check out the Azureus wiki, it'll likely have help for you. I'm sure this info is out there b/c I had to learn it myself.
