Porting number from At&t prepaid to Verizon contract

Wondering if anyone here knows whether I will be able port the phone number from my At&t prepaid account (been using an unlocked 3g on it for the last 3 months) to the new Verizon contract I'll pick up tonight during the pre-order.

I chatted with a Verizon rep and was told as long as I have the account number it's fine, but I've gone onto my prepaid account and I'm not sure if it has an "account number". Unless my phone number is implied.

Anyone have any experience with this?

First check and see if your AT&T pre-paid number is portable.
