Porting number from Sprint to VZW - HELP! How does this work?

What do I need to know for this process? Will it take any longer than a normal activation? I don't need to tell sprint first right? Is there anything I can do to speed up the process or make it go as smooth as possible?

you want to contact verizon first so they can port your number out. if you close your sprint account before you port the number to verizon you will lose it.

I opened a new line with VZW to preorder the iPhone (sorry! That's imoortant, should've noted that haha). To bring over my new line, I had to enter all the sprint info for the line. Is that enough?

As long as you entered all of the sprint info when you pre-ordered to port the number over on a new verizon line, it will take care of itself. Turn off your sprint phone when you get the new one, turn it on and it should activate itself

Just curious, what would happen if I left my Sprint phone on?
