My portrait mode seem to have stopped working all of a sudden and it's gone on for a while. I tried restarting the phone and force quitting camera app and the orange portrait mode icon just won't light up no matter how far away i move it. Has this happened to anyone else?

Do you tap the screen so that the camera will focus on the object your trying to shoot first?

yea it just keeps telling me to move further away and never focuses
