As the title states if Apple can ramp up production faster than anticpated do you think there maybe the possibility they could bring the pre-order date forward or is it set in stone?

Doubt it. Presuming they have a ramp up schedule that’s now in full swing after their delays this summer, I’d venture they’re now at a point of producing a regular number of devices daily to stock up for release day. Based on their projected presales for the device, they’ll likely want to stockpile as many as possible to generate as many true sales (not deferred sales based on preorders which just represents delayed income to report). On the plus side, my guess is they’re anticipating producing sufficient quantity by then to meet as much demand as possible, while then fulfilling orders beyond the Nov 3rd release date. Getting as many sales of the device in before holidays is pretty vital to their business.

It's going to be a very interesting November to see how quickly it sells out and more importantly how quickly you can order one after the initial batches run out.
