What is your Apple setup? What products have you put together to make a great setup in your home? What are some ideas for a sweet setup?

For example, Airport Express to speakers throughout your entire house which is hooked up to your iTunes through Mac, which you control using the Remote App on your iPad from anywhere in your house?

Use as many Apple products to tell of a cool/possible setup!

Yeah, but I guess I am thinking more specifically. Like the example I gave. How have you innovated Apple technology into your home so that you use it for everything? i.e...iPads built into walls for light switches and music selection for the room you are in or something wild and crazy!? There has to be some crazy stuff out there people are doing.

I'm 13 By the Way

Bro, I am not trying to be mean but nobody gives a flying ****** how old you are. It is not needed. You put this in the setup thread too. It does not matter what age you are.

There must be I'm working on something of the sort in this thread (feel free to post)

best setup for me would be
27" imac to watch/download movies
2010 base model mac mini as an HTPC hooked up to a NAS (4tb or so should be good)
a few ATV's to stream audio/video
airplay setup with Airport express
iPad to control it all
MBA for mobile computing at school/work
custom built server with roughly 12tb to backup everything and act as an FTP server.

We had a discussion today at work about replacing some lighting panels with iPads that can run an app... it would be a significant cost savings (lol) and since I work in a department which basically gets paid to play with new toys and make things be super cool, we'll see how it works.

The extent of my "setup" is our theater in the basement with an audio-out - I can sit and work and listen to music, or watch movies.. :)

My setup that I posted in this thread is similar.

I thought about getting an Air, but decided on 15 inch MBP instead. I compared them side by side and preferred the larger screen.

I also have a Denon 4311i receiver that has AirPlay built in and I find it more convenient for AirPlay than my AEs and ATV2s ( when I listen on my main system).

I saw your pictures your setup looks awesome definitely more then I would ever need. How do you setup airplay with headphones?

Macdude2010, ' means foot, " means inch. And, before you try, being 13 isn't an excuse

It drives me bat poop crazy seeing people post something like 27' ACD or 13' MBP...

You must do some pretty serious Facebooking on that setup? What level are you in FarmVille?

I have a MacBook Pro 15". That's it! It's in my living room near my chair. It's not connect to anything else. :p

The rest of my house looks like...um... a house ;)

So Twentieth Century!!

I'm starting to think he may be a troll...

My current setup-

27" iMac (Win 7+OSX Lion) - 6790 2gb model.
320gb+64gb external storage
EyeTV

Wired Apple Aluminium keyboard
Wired Razer Diamondback 3G mouse
Wacom Intuous 4 Medium
Apple Magic Trackpad
Apple BT mouse (doesn't get used)
Roland keyboard + M-Audio Uno.

Wired Xbox 360 controller
Wireless Xbox controller receiver + Wireless Xbox 360 controller
Wireless Hori Fighting Stick 3
Dreamcast Arcade Controller with adapter

iPod 4th Gen 64gb with Apple BT keyboard

And it's all scattered around in a complete mess because I'm too busy working to keep it tidy :p

And, just to check, how old are you?

Be patient, all will come in the fullness of time.:D

Of course, I didn't get my first computer until I was 66 years old. :p

Fear not, you will be at least a few years younger. ;)

Hang in there, kid.:)

I'm kidding, I have apple products but I don't have a crazy setup

A setup that I would like to have would be to hang speakers all over my house so that I can play music throughout the whole house from one simple system. But with the ability to pick which set of speakers I would like the music to play on. I would be able to play songs through my iPad to whichever speakers or all speakers that I choose. This could be done by taking advantage of the Airport Express, and playing a song and selecting the speakers in which I want to use. This could also be tied to TV's.
