Hello. I was not able to open my SR MBP 17" (summer 2007 model) this morning. I pushed the button many times but I could not open the lid. After checking on the internet, I managed to open it using a business card. Now, I notice that the button which opens the MBP cannot be pushed as much as before. What are the causes? Is there a good way to fix the problem by myself? I am quite sure that if I close the lid, I will have the same problem again. Thanks.

A small piece of debris may have fallen into you laptop (possibly through the latch slots) and worked its way behind the lower latch catch.

Were you able to resolve your problem? I'm taking my 2.33 to the apple store today to have them look at the problem.

No. I just use a business card to open it. I will ask Apple to repair it later.
