I'm thinking about buying this http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FreeAgent-External-ST310005FDA2E1-RK-Silver/dp/B001FWEETK/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1243323338&sr=1-11 Seagate drive. I have always liked seagate drives and the problems seem to be fixed but the suspiously low price and bad reviews lead me to believe Tiger Direct is trying to get rid of an old/bad batch. I am also looking at this WD drive: http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-WDH1U10000AN-External-Silver/dp/B001O1MKPC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1243324017&sr=1-1

If the seagate drives are ok their longer warranty also appeals to me.

Thoughts?

I would get whatever you want... I usually buy Seagate Drives myself.. but i honestly believe each drive has an equal chance of crashing. This being said HDD companies do not spend as much time qualifying drives for their branded stuff "External Storage" as they would say for and OEM like "Apple"... So whenever you buy a external drive chances are it is not the best drive the company made...
