Possible? External monitor Q.

I'd posted this is the MBP sub-forum, but here is probably more appropriate;

I have the 2010 MBP 13" and I understand it can utilise two monitors.

Could this situation be possible, for using it as a HTPC;

1) Have my 'TV' screen hooked up via DVI for movies off the external HD
AND
2) Have my 'External Monitor' hooked up via DVI/HDMI for everyday computer use?

My TV isn't that close to my MBP, so I can get an extended DVI cable for it.

I know people can use dual monitors to use as both computer screens...thus, I was wondering if this would be possible.
