Firstly this is a mix of information from different posts on here and on the Apple Forums, so its not my work, I just found what worked for me and thought I would share it.
So I did a fresh install of Catalina on my MBP 2018 and everything worked accept Music, TV and Podcasts no matter what I did they wouldn't sign in. Given that many people have reported this I figure the new 10.15.2 beta would have fixed the issue and it didn't.....but this did:
I am not a command line genius but did understand what I was doing, so I strongly suggest you backup your Mac. I use Chronosync.
So load up you Mac and login to the desktop. Load up Terminal:
1. sudo -v
(enter your password and hit enter)
2. killall -9 accountsd com.apple.iCloudHelper
3. defaults delete MobileMeAccounts
4. rm -rf ~/Library/Accounts
5. killall -9 accountsd com.apple.iCloudHelper
(I had to run this command 2 times here before I got the No matching processes belonging to you were found message, I suggest you do the same)
6. exit
Ok that's it for the command lines, you MUST restart your MAC
So the first time I did this the same trouble appeared, so I ran it again but this time did the following:
sign into your desktop
The critical part for me:
Load up Music and sign into your account via Music and I have no idea why but it worked, I was then signed into TV and Podcasts automatically and my content appeared.
Next:
Load up System Preferences and log into iCloud as you would have done if this all worked properly.
This has fixed my issues, it would seem a simple authentication issue is the problem, and I have no idea how apple engineers missed this pretty glaring bug/issue.
Anyway I hope this helps anyone else who has been going mad trying to get access to Music and TV/Films
I would be interested to hear from those that it works for,
Regards
James
