Hi all,
Been having a weird issue with my MacBook 5,2 (mid 2009) the past week. High Sierra 10.13.6 installed. I'll turn it on, and within the first 5 minuets, it freezes completely with small blue lines on the screen, usually on the top right area of the menu bar. I just have to turn it off and on, and it doesn't do it again all day. This started happening after I went from 10.13.5 to 10.13.6, and I installed new ram at that same time. My first thought it okay my new ram is bad. I ran AHT, came back with no errors. We all know how reliable AHT can be, so I then ran passmark MemTest. No errors there either?

Also, I dual boot windows 10 on it. Windows 10 has not had a single problem yet. Normally if its ram related, I'd get a BSOD in windows or some similar issue.

Any ideas?

If this belongs in the macbook thread let me know. I posted here because after my testing it seemed more likely a software issue.
