Hi,

I received an e-mail from a family member which had a link/attachment and when I clicked on it, the safari browser said this website had phishing/malware on it. I also noticed that after I exited this webpage, the computer's fan got very noisy.

Any suggestions/feedback will be most welcome!

Did you click to accept the install of any software? If not, then clear your browser's cookies (Safari menu / Preferences / Privacy / Remove all website data) and reboot.

If you DID agreeably install something, things might get more complicated. First, don't do that. Next, try to recall what you installed, and let us know back here.

I'm hoping the fan noise was just because Adobe Flash or something else processor-intensive was called into action at about that time.

I never open email attachments from anyone but the ones I send myself from my work email. Family members, with one exception (a web designer), are computer stupid so I don't trust what they send me.
