I received an SMS message last night and I didn't even open it and all of a sudden my iPhone rebooted itself and the message was gone. Does IOS 7 automatically delete suspicious messages?

SMSes do not have the ability to contain malware, at least for now. Unless you mean you clicked on a link in the SMS. But still getting a malware that way is still highly unlikely.

There IS that one particular string of Arabic characters that makes Apple products lose their mind...

Thanks guys. I guess I will never know why that message caused my phone to reboot.

There seems to be a problem with iOS7 that leads phones to reboot when performing things like what you describe. I've had my phone reboot when multitasking, opening things from a notification etc. I hope this gets fixed with the next update release of iOS 7.
