I currently have a 23 month old 15 in anti-glare screen MBP It has the 2.2 dual core processor and 2 gig of (667 mhz) ram with a 110 gig HD and the GeForce 8600 M Gt graphics card with 128 meg of ram. As do we all, I would like more speed. First option is to add more RAM but i would still have the "smallish" hard drive and the older graphics card as well as a 2 year old battery. I never have used the express card slot or the 400 firewire slot. I am thinking of moving up to the new MBP with a 2.8 gig processor, 4 gig of faster RAM, a 500 gig hard drive and and a more current graphics card with 512 meg of RAM. Faster lighter computer with a better battery, still an anti glare screen and an SD card slot. My cameras use SD and compact flash cards.

My uses beyond internet, e mail documents and small spreadsheets include Photoshop and Illustrator basics as well as aperture ... slowly moving into some mild photo editing.

So after that long answer to a short question should i add RAM to the current MBP or treat myself to a new one. I'm at the other end of the life chain to most that read this as I am retired and this is a hobby. Thanks
