iPhone 17 Pro Possible return question

I just pre ordered a 17 pro. Going from pro max, there’s a chance I may return it for a pro max. Question is I will be trading in my only phone when I pick up the 17 pro. So if I do decide to return and none of the stores have a 17 pro max in stock, then I will be forced to hold on to the 17 pro until pro max becomes available. What happens if that takes more than 14 days? I can only return within 14 days right?

You can only return in 14 days, occasionally they will stretch that but not by much depending on the circumstances.

I will definitely initiate the return within 14 days. But question is do they allow you to hold on to the return phone until the replacement phone becomes available?

I suppose it all depends on how long that is and how long you can stretch the return but they don’t just allow you to keep it waiting for your phone to come in stock, the 2 events are not married up. In your location do they send a courier to pick up or do you self post ?
