Got a bizarre letter from some company without an internet URL calling themselves MBN or Magazine Billing Network. The envelope is non-descript save for the address of ABDI, which also lacks any URL. I checked Google, and nothing matches up.

Why call it a scam? They want $14.95 for a years subscription to MacAddict.

MacAddict calls itself something else now.

Anyone else get a subscription notice from these people? Are the prices actually discounts? Do the actual magazines hire them as intermediaries?

MBN Scam

I got a letter from Magazine Billing Network too with a subscription offer for Dr DObbs Journal. For a two years subscription they were asking for $56.97. Subscribing directly using the magazine website cost me 24 bucks (or $12 per year). Probably they are trying to become the man in the middle and just collect the difference in price.
