Hey everyone,

I downloaded an app that reads metaData off pictures but when you save an image to your camera roll, that data gets wiped out and is replaced by the time that you saved it to your camera roll. What I really need to know is the date, location, etc- of the actual photo that was sent to me via text.

Unless all that info is wiped when sent via text? Please let me know if it is #1, and then if not, how to access that actual image file from the text message (instead of copying creating a new copy because that wipes out the metadata)

I'm using an iphone 5. Thanks!!

update?

did you ever find any information that helped you with this? I desperately need to do the same.

I have an iPhone 5 and when I transfer photos (from texts or wherever) to my computer in iPhoto the meta data is still there.

Maybe the people you're getting pictures from have already stripped the data from them.
