I don't know if vBulletin allows this, but it would be really nice if, when quoting a post, a link to that post would be automatically generated as a hyperlink, so that instead of, say, this:

jsw said:
As another Select member, I've also been monitoring the Tiger releases.

the username would be a hyperlink to the original post, something like this:
Code:
[font=Arial][size=2]
Originally posted by [b][url=https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=1344828#post1344828]jsw[/url][/b]
[i]As another Select member, I've also been monitoring the Tiger releases. [/i][/size][/font]
Actually, it might be more understandable if the link could be added to the "posted", like:
Code:
[font=Arial][size=2]
Originally [url=https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=1344828#post1344828]posted[/url] by [b]jsw[/b]
[i]As another Select member, I've also been monitoring the Tiger releases. [/i][/size][/font]
Would this be possible? It would make it a lot easier to find the post to which the current post refers - often useful in long threads.

Hmmmmmmmm.....*maybe*, vB supports custom tags, I'm not sure if it'll stretch to this extent.....I'll have a play on my own, dead (crys) forums.....

edit: OK, as far as I can see there is no way to edit the function of the built in BB codes.
