Is it possible to backup an iPhone to an iTunes that is not the original computer that it syncs with? I ask this because my cousin came over for vacation for the next few weeks and he's looking to reinstall iOS. Can I do it for him without him losing anything?

Can an iPhone backup to a foreign iTunes and then install iOS, then restore back the backup?

Yes u can!

You can backup to foreign computer. Follow these steps:

1) plug in iPhone and right click on the device.
2) click on Backup.
3) after backup you can restore to factory settings
4) when you click restore it will ask you if you'd Like to backup. Since you already backed up you can select no.
5) once restored, right click your phone icon and select restore from backup.
6) the only thing he may lose is his music collection. That would need to be resynced when he get home.

****** Make sure you update iTunes prior to doing the aboce******

But will he be able to sync with his original computer afterwards if the iOS is installed through my computer?
