Possible to Charge USB-C MacBook & 2016 MacBook Pro with Apple 12W iPad or iPhone Charger

I purchased a 2016 MacBook Pro and have an Apple 12W iPad charger. Can I use the iPad charger to charge the MacBook Pro. I have the required USB-A to USB-C cable. I understand that if it works, it will charge much slower because the adapter is 12 watts but want to know if it's okay?

Good question. Don't know the answer, but I can tell you I've charged my 15" machine with my wife's 29w rMB charger. Slow, but it worked.

It's perfectly fine but as you have already stated, it will charge at a reduced charge.
