An unusual scenario, I know.

I admin a grass roots group with 25,000+ members (and growing). We're about to send an email blast to one segment of our membership, approximately 5,000 addresses total. Since we don't need pretty HTML layouts at this stage and funds are (squeaky) tight, I'm probably going to use SendGrid, pushing emails through Thunderbird on my MBP.

Here's my dilemma:

This means creating a mailing list on my local machine that includes 5,000+ addresses. I don't want this list in Address Book (and, by extension, on my iPhone and iPad) since, eventually, the full 25,000 addresses will be wrapped in.

Is there a way to create a mailing list that lives outside of Address Book but is still accessible by Thunderbird on my MBP?

And...can it live in Dropbox so it's still accessible on the MacBook Air when I travel?

See? Told you it was an usual scenario.
